Vase with leaves and red berries

The globular expanded-shaped vase, with a small gold-rimmed neck at the mouth, is characterized by a stylized decoration depicting thin sprigs of green leaves and red berries outlined in gold. The blue background, varied by the presence of white clouds, helps to give the impression of a certain three-dimensionality. 

The porcelain production of Richard-Ginori in the first decade of the twentieth century is characterized by the creation of models related to the new Liberty style, which was predominant in Europe at that time. Objects with anthropomorphic and phytomorphic elements in high relief are accompanied by simpler and more linear profiles, enhanced by decorations experimenting with new techniques. In this case, the soft colors used seem to be inspired by the underglaze pigment palette first introduced in porcelain by the Danish manufactories Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grohndal.
